KOTA KINABALU:

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman yesterday announced a one-month bonus for State Government employees, and it will be paid in two instalments, one before Han Raya and the other in December. The bonus for the 19,363 State civil servants would amount to RM32. 5 million, said Musa, who is also Finance Minister. The bonus payment of minimum RM1,000 also includes those employed by State statutory bodies and local authorities. Those entitled to the bonus would receive it in two payments, one before Han Raya and the second in December, Musa told reporters after chairing the State Cabinet meeting yesterday. “The payment of one-month bonus is in line with the payment of one-month bonus to Federal civil servants,” he told reporters after chairing the State Cabinet meeting here. Meanwhile, Musa said the Muslim State Cabinet members will be hosting their annual joint Han Raya Open House on the first day of Han Raya at the Likas Sports Complex. “We would like to invite everyone to the open house which will be held from 11am to 3pm,” he said, adding that the event would be the best opportunity for the people and State leaders to meet and mingle. “I believe Sabahans of all races and religions will use this Open House opportunity to prove that the spirit of goodwill and solidarity among us is always strong and fresh and this has all along become the thrust of the State’s development and people’s prosperity.” According to Musa, Head of State Tun Ahmadshah Abdullah and wife Toh Puan Dayang Masuyah are scheduled to arrive at the open house at about 12.30pm. “I would also like to take this opportunity to wish all Sabahans and Malaysians in general, Selamat Han Raya, maafzahir dan batin,” he said.
